Dr. Daniel Kahl
Dan Kahl is an Associate Professor in Community and Leadership Development at the University of Kentucky where he teaches undergraduate courses in community leadership development. In addition, Dr. Kahl works with Cooperative Extension to provide resources and materials for community leadership, community planning, and business retention and expansion. His most recent work has focused on assisting communities in crafting change responses to climate uncertainties.
Dan has over 30 years of experience working for or with community service and non-profit organizations. He has served as the director of a non-profit for 9 years and has served in various ways on not-for-profit boards since. He is committed shaping a solid foundation for Young Hearts as the new organization is established.
Eric P. Haley
One of his main passions is coaching & education, encouraging his students to be the best versions of themselves, and has over 10 years of experience in those fields. From 2015-2019, he taught English in Taipei, Taiwan, working with lower elementary to high school students, and has also coached tennis in the US and Asia.
As Danielle’s brother, Doug endured the loss of his mom at the age of 16, and knows firsthand how difficult losing a parent is, especially in the adolescent years. In memory of Denise Chesney, Doug started the DMC Memorial Bike Ride, raising a total of $25,000 for breast cancer research over four rides in Washington state and Taiwan.
Doug holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from Gonzaga University.
